1. What to blog? I’m not always sure. I fight self-doubt.
I will often start 2-4 posts and finish one for the week. It turns out that I really do care what you think of me, and I want to give you something that I hope you want to read.
2. It is a challenge to write well.
Writing well means revising well. I’d like to think that I’m getting better at remembering this.
3. Grammar mistakes
is are rarely reported.
Grammar mistakes show what is true — that I’m often rushing to the finish line. It’s the equivalent of walking around with a boogie and everyone’s too embarrassed to say, alas it is human nature, and I’m updating my process to elimate them.
4. Some people like a long post, others like a short post, but either way, no one has much time.
So I’ll try to keep it shorter or at least more scannable.
5. It’s not getting any easier…but we’ll see what happens
I’m hoping that a weekly blog post is a lot like getting regular exercise. Eventually it will not be a big battle each time to whip something up on an editorial schedule.
So there you go. The 1st Quarterly Milestone is covered. Here’s to the next 3/4 of the year.
Amber, can you write about XYZ? Suggest a topic
I have many, many weeks left and a lot of topics to explore. For many of you who know me, and the stories that I have shared with you verbally, here are a couple of suggestions thus far.
– Death and Mortality
– More about Hawaii
They are all general subject, but I think I can cover it. If you have a suggestion for a post, then please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
